Cao Xueqin the author of A Dream of Red Mansion enjoyed the fame, and his ancestral home was in Tangshan Fengrun; the main initiator of Chinese Ping opera Cheng Zhaocai was burn in Luannan county of Tangshan; Li Dazhao was the pioneer of the Chinese communist movement and one of the main initiators of Chinese Communist, and his hometown was in Leting county of Tangshan. Qian'an, which is famous for its iron, has a rich storage of mineral resources and various kinds of products. The mineral resources which have been proved up has reached to more than 20 kinds, among which the main metal resource is iron, which has a storage of 27.2 tons and the ore grading is around 30%. Since the annual output of iron powder has reached to 4,700,000 tons, Qian'an, which is named as “iron Qian'an”, has been the first place of the prefectural iron ore around the country for 13 years. The main non-metal resources are limestone, dolomite and granite. The storage of limestone has reached to 400,000,000 tons. It's mainly used as the raw material of the products such as cement and lime. Its annual exploitation has reached to 1,000,000 tons; the storage of dolomite has reached to 150,000,000 tons and granite 150,000,000 tons too. The discovered propagation resources are more than 400 kinds. Among which, the famous “Jingdong Chestnut” is grown here; the annual output of peanuts and sweet potatoes perennially lies in the second place around the province, so it becomes a key county in sweet potato development; it is also the production base of muscle pigs and one of the main producing areas of Jingdong dried fruit in the country. |
